WHAT IS AIRSOFT?
Airsoft is a team sport and a military simulation game. It uses replica firearms to shoot small plastic pellets. Airsoft offers great entertainment and has been recognized around the world as a unifying team or group sport. It is also an exciting adventure, marvellous way of recreation and a hobby, too.
An airsoft game is usually based on a scenario, which is then played out by two teams. To make the airsoft sport more interesting players use military camouflage, airsoft guns fitted with various accessories and elements from real-life military tactics are used as well.
HISTORY
Airsoft was created in the 1980s in Japan. Later America became the largest airsoft equipment manufacturer and the sport quickly spread throughout the world! Airsoft guns were designed for entertainment purposes for people to take a glimpse into the military world.
SAFETY
In airsoft safety is the most important prerequisite. For the games to be safe, there are safety zones where guns must be on safety and players are prohibited to use them and an orange cap must be placed on the tip of the barrel. Main elements of protection are goggles or masks. Masks are safer, because they cover the entire face. Participants are allowed to take off goggles only in the safety zone, otherwise they may be disqualified.
